Bent Poplar Desk Lamp
This lamp was designed as part of a Furniture and Lighting Studio course. The Design features a bent poplar arm with a base and secondary arm made from poplar hardwood.
the bent piece can be raised and lowered along the secondary arm and the whole lamp can be fully disassemble for ease of packing and shipping.
Process
I started by sketching various styles of lamps that incorporated bent wood elements. I explored floor lamps, ceiling lamps, and desk lamps, before eventually landing on the design for my desk lamp. From there I did more sketches refining my design, and created a rough prototype before constructing my final.
